The course focuses on a wide range of topics related to new humanities. It will introduce students to the key approaches and ideas of posthumanism. This course will provide students with an overview of current concepts and methodologies for studying human/non-human relations. It will focus on animals and things as one of the key categories of non-human subjects in the contemporary human sciences. It will present nonanthropocentric ontologies, epistemologies and ethics. We will analyze and discuss texts of culture such as literary texts, films and art that to challenge traditional ways of defining the boundary between the human and the non-human.
